There has to be romance somewhere and honestly the thought of the makeout scenes in Avatar gross me out way more despite it being the better show In the end it created decent tension between Lion-O and Tygra and I just keep in mind that it’s just another show with the middle school crowd in mind. I shrug my shoulders over the romance triangle. I hate to say it, but as soon as the show hit filler with that sword smith bunny, the quality took a nose dive.Īnd yes… this was a terrible episode but I got a few laughs out of his design.

They designed the series as if it was a long movie rather than a series, things introduced in the first few episodes will not even factor in until later in the series. The first season is 26 episodes in length but they are hoping for a second season because they already have the story mapped out for 52. The series will be less Scifi than the original (that seems pretty evident from the clips above). Thundera is secluded from the rest of Third Earth and the catalyst for the series is it’s invasion. Snarf now has a non-speaking role and is a pet to Prince Lion-O, so you don’t have the feeling of beating him to death with a hammer this time around. The Executive Produce is Sam Register who worked on Teen Titans and Ben 10, and the producers are Michael Jelenic (who worked on Batman: The Brave and The Bold), and Ethan Spaulding from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The animation is being done by Studio 4☌, which was responsible for the animation in The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight. Here’s a few bits of interesting information about the show: The unlikely champion, joined by his faithful comrades Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat and his loyal pet Snarf, must work together to save their world from darkness.” On Third Earth, the kingdom of Thundera is being threatened by the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra and young heir to the throne Lion-O embarks on a great quest to take his rightful place as king. “The re-imagined animated series based on the beloved 80s classic tells the tale of a hero’s epic journey to fulfill his ultimate destiny. 
Which I have to say, people only think of this show fondly because it had such an awesome opening sequence. At the very least I can almost guarantee that you will prefer this to the original. Originally, like most people, I had a feeling this was going to be really, really bad but overall, it turned out to be pretty good, not great but good.
So I just enjoyed a weekend marathon of the new Thundercats reboot.
